Default I'll tell you what's keeping me going at the moment... (another LLM inspired thread)

Following on from Jimbokav1971's idea to create a duplicate thread from the LLM forum where everyone could properly vent their spleen, here is another one where we can all revel in the positives of the game.

Er, thanks!

Interesting how there are no other replies yet, though. Had a feeling the positives would lag behind the negatives, just like the original LLM version of this thread. There must be someone out there who loves something about FM2008, however small.

Anyone?

Think positive!

hmm...
Although the match engine isn't perfect yet, but I see its getting better each year, especially this year that it's becoming more realistic. I even saw keeper dribbles past the closing down forward!

Coach report similar to scout report is also good, but I prefer the way you compare players to the best in the squad instead of judging them from world class players. Lower leaguers or youngsters can't be differentiated as they all have 1-2 stars. Yet it's a good addition on 08.

Suzie, just how much response did you expect at 4:00 in the morning?

The thing I like the most is the match engine - player movement off the ball in the 2-D pitch is so significantly improved than even an American can see it. Also I see a lot more uncontrolled touches, which had been sorely lacking from '05-'07. The games look like real football, now.

Unfortunately there's nothing keeping me going for fm08. When I played fm07 I could hardly stop, my toilet breaks concided with processing breaks...However there's no longer that addictiveness in fm08, every 10 mins I see something that is wrong, buggy or laughable...no more sense of realism. Sorry for this post that's kinda contrary to the thread title...

It's the same here as everywhere: only those who feel they have a reason to complain come out in force, those who are satisfied simply play the game, don't go out of their way to come in and praise the product. (Ten year+ tech support veteran here, I know what I'm talking about )

I, for one, think that 08 is yet another step forward for the most adictive, in-depth and best game I have ever played, bar none. Rose-spectacled 'CM2' ftl. It was the best game of its day. If SI would dare to bring it on the market today, it would be considered a joke.

The match flow really is a great enhancement, probably the best of this version, IMO. Furthermore, I have the feeling that the players have become a lot more intelligent. I haven't encountered players becoming angry forever because I sub them early in a friendly match, for example. Neither can I sign great looking players by promising them an impossible team status, they don't fall for that anymore.

Realism has won a great deal this year. SI, KUTGW
