why is it as soon as you put a player on short list teams try to buy him, i've noticed this for a while and just to prove my point i kept my eye on a player for a full season and as soon as i put him on my short list someone bought him.
As far as i know Alex Ferguson dosen't post his short list on facebook.
but i suppose when Kenyon went to Chelsea he told Roman all players Utd were after, and he buggered up Utd getting Ronaldinho. THE GIT
Not experienced this at all. Sure, when I bid for a player other clubs tend to too. But then the selling club would be sure to make sure other clubs were aware of the potential sale to make sure they got the best possible price.
I get that a lot too. so I did the following. bid on the player, quickly removed him from my shortlist. Something which guaranteed me that no other clubs would come in for the player. At this one wonderkid I was really close at getting the deal. Then I rebid and forgot to remove him from shortlist. After I pressed continue doomsday came and Milan, Chelsea, Barca, Juve, Inter, Liverpool, Arsenal the lot came swooping in on him. That was seriously painful, watching the player beeing bought by fricken Milan right in front of me, after several rounds of negotiations... I almost got him for 5m... then Milan decided they'd go pay 10m... damn them
I could click on a player's Transfer screen and see that no clubs are interested in him, so I add to shortlist or scout or something similar and "Hey presto!" 20 other clubs would instantly appear in the interested box!

I made a post about it around April / May 2006
I think this is due to this; The other clubs already had him on their shortlist, but you did not find out about their interest until you yourself had added him to your shortlist, thus focusing on him more.
It's not that they added him when you did, its that you found out about their interest when you became interested yourself.

Atleast thats the way i always thought of it. </BLOCKQUOTE>
makes sense, other than the fact that at the time I was the only one with a bid on him for about 5 weeks straight. The second I added him ( and by mistake) they rushed in and overbid me.
Only possibility i can think of is this:
You bidded, took him off your shortlist. Everythings dandy.
A few days later Milan add him to their shortlist (you said hes hot property so its likely they stumbled across him just like you did).. Of course they are unaware of your interest because hes not on your shortlist, thus you arent 'interested'.
You then add him to your shortlist, and re-bid, which of course sends a message to Milan letting them know of their competition. You were unaware of their interest because he wasnt on your shortlist until now.. But as soon as you add him you become aware of all the teams after him?
Maybe a lot of drivel there but i hope i made my point.

but if you can't tell if other clubs have him on their short list they shouldn't know if you put him on yours.
They didnt, until they added him to theirs themselves, which could have been anytime between your two bids.. Because he wasnt on your shortlist, you have no idea when they added him, but as soon as you made your bid they were alerted.
