Im trying to hook up with my mates to play some good hardcore fm and i just cant no matter what we try and do we just cant join servers, any ideas would be massively appreciated cheers

One of you needs to be the host of the game. Once that's decided and you've created the game with the league and right database size then you pass on your IP address to your friend. He enters it on the join game screen and should then be able to join your game.

There are not any dedicated servers set up for the game world. However if you look in the FM Online Forum you may find some vaancies in existing game environments in the form of clans that you may be able to join if you apply.

Yeah, make sure you tick the "Host" option when starting a game. Easily missed, I almost forgot to do it last time....

There is also something to do with port forwarding, can't remember exactly but you'll find help in the online forum.

Whoever has the simplest internet connection - try to make him host first of all. I.E. no router, no shared connections at home or anything that might jeopardise your network game via some technicality. You can always change it later to someone else if you are successful.

The other thing that caused me and my mates great problems was confusion over IP addresses. The host might be trying to use their internal network IP address (like a 192.x.x.x no.) when in fact you need the IP address that the 'world' can see if you like. Google it, try whatismyipaddress.com or similiar. That IP number is the one the host needs to tell everyone to connect to. No, I didnt understand either...............but it worked for us

I remember. When you are trying to be host the game status page states your IP supposed address. Don't trust it, it's BS. use whatsmyip.com and hand that IP out to whoever is trying to join
