I created a player, Eric Cantona.

I edited the cfg file to say:
<record from="eric cantona" to="graphics/pictures/person/74000114/portrait"/>

i then found a picture of Eric, resized it to 95X95 and saved it in Photoshop as a .PGN file

I entred the game, clicked on eric, and the picture is there, but it's all discouloured and horizontally squished

is there something us amateur editors are missing in the creation of a proper face graphic file?

Neeeeeeeeevermind, I played a round a little more and figured it out.

Turns out you can't have the picture as a background locked layer. I had to label it Layer 0, or 1...everything is coming up roses

i put a picture of myself in the game and hv the same problem with u initially. but i found that the problem is solved if u save the picture as jpg file with 95*95.

the other key factor is that you need to make the opacity 99%

Just make it 98% transperancy ... then take a deep breath and everything will turn out just fine
