Right, I've downlaoded the January Database patch thingy, and saved it into the db bit in Football Manager.
What do I do from there, as i haven't done it before. All help appreciated.
Right, it saved itself into the DB file. When I start the new game, nothing new comes up. Is it just the default DB. Or do I have to move the file into the default thing?
When you start a new game at the very begining a window appears with teh new game option etc.With database, author etc.Click on the database (you may see 8.01 update if you patched it.A window then opens showing all the data updates in that file.Pick the one you need and away you go !

Down load and run it then the update file should look like a purple blue and green books with a belt around it.right like it and unzip here (desk top) cut and paste it into your db folder.
try extracting it directly to the db file.I had a problem like this once and that sorted it for some reason Also like he said do you have the latest patch?
