I've switched from my usual schedules to Matt's which I downloaded from FMDownload (?). In a month, it's been red arrows for most of my players.

Should I give it more time to see the effects or should I ditch the schedules before it becomes detrimental for my team?

Yes- reveiew the player attributes at the beginning of a change and after 6 months to see what effect it has- you will also need to manually allocate your coaches and get some good ones to make any good training programme work well.
