My bonafide original 4-1-3-2 tactic. Opinions please?
I have always preferred to use a tactic of my own making. It has always revolved around 4-1-3-2, as this was the tactic I was involved IRL. Believe me, it is much easier to implement tactics IRL than in this game.
My main problem is that no matter which way I have tried to operate, I never get more than 47% - 49% of possesion. IRL the opposite is true because of the influence of the DCM. He controls the game.
I am playing as Hull City. My best DCM is John Welsh and he is pretty good. I play a drop down menu version of 4-1-3-2 with a farrow on the CM and diagonal first stage farrows on the two other CMs. I set Welsh onto defensive priorities with short passing and no forward runs or run with the ball. He closes down on 10-12 on the slider and he rarely gets less than 7.20 for each match.
I am trying to learn how to post screen shots as I appreciate that it is easier to demonstrate tactics in this manner. So, especially for Cleon and the other mods, if you see strange apparitions you will know who to blame. All opinions and assistance appreciated. Kind regards to all.

MattUK. I really want to keep the original 4-1-3-2 shape to the team, although I am thinking of placing the two outer midfielders wide onto the wings, as you suggest. Thanks for your views. Much appreciated.

oecus, from your other screenshots it looks very like a tactic I used to use in most of the old (and I mean OLD!) versions of the game, down to the direction and positioning of the arrows.
My suggestions for improving possesion.
a) Drop the farrows on the full-backs. You can raise their mentality a bit, and keep there passing to the top end of normal or lower, as there are a good few players close to them.
b) Try and keep the tempo below 12. Maybe in the Championship 8-12 is the range to go with.
3) Your DMC has 12 max for closing? To be honest mate that seems a bit low to me. What about the rest of the players, particularly the midfield? If you don't close the opposition down then they'll have lots of posssesion (not necessarily useful possesion) and therefore it'll keep your possesion lower.
