Just completed my first season as Bournemouth and i've achieved the boards aims but feel i could have done better if i'd not have so many injuries. I've noticed through the season that quite often members of my reserve/youth team were regulary getting injured. Some of them have been tagged 'Injury plagued' in the media and also having some of my key players drop when i needed them.
I'm just wondering what factors could influence this?
Could it be my poor facilites for the youth team as thats where most of the injuries are?
Could it be poor ratings for Asst manager (Who's not great tbh), Coaches, pyhsio's
Could it be the intensity? although the main slider bar is a couple of notches before turning to intensive
Can any point out the factors that might help reduce the injuries that may inflicted by my poor setup or improvements that i could do with a small budget for a small team.
I think it will be a combination of all of them, you may also add to the list match tempo and the type of tackling that happens in your games.
I have my training to 2 notches below medium and I still suffer with players getting injuried...
I play a fast tempo game with normal tackling...
My physios (3) are all good (20 in stat anyway). I have good training facilities and my coaches are all 4/5 star, currently (2 matches into my preseason) I have lost 4 players to injury ranging from 4 days to 6 months...
The fitness levels of players starting a game are key.
The one I adhere to is, you play if you are over 90% (the closer to 100% the better)...I never let a player playin a match who is less than 70% and I dont let a player continue in game if they drop below 60% fitness.
An in match injury means they will be substituted, unless after the treatment they go back to 90% plus...
But as I say injuries do still happen and in ref to my 4 in 2 games, I have checked the players who are injured and their natural fitness is less than double figures so...
There isnt a science to it I reckon...its a pain that really does happen, at the worst time aswell!
I am Everton by the way so I know that in terms of resource we are poles apart!
I keep to the same guidelines. Have to be above 90% and match fit. I do play a quick tempo game and also only my defensive midfielder is on hard tackling. Seems like you are right just circumstance i suppose just cross my fingers and hope for next season
