Hey guys, ok...breathe...slowly...ok I'm calm now. I'm plugged into the matrix, I cannot see what's really going on. I'm clueless, oblivious. I'm clueless as to how my team can create so many chances, and not stick the ball in the back of the net. Now mind you, I've read and analysed Cleon's methods(I think he's the best on here by far) so I have a basic idea on team mentality, closing down, passing etc. I know that away from home you narrow down. I know that if the opposition play a direct attacking style you play a slower, short passing style. I know about marking players out of a match. What I cannot understand is why my team miss so many ridiculous chances.(for example, Vidic heading over the bar from 2 yards out, my strikers aiming for anywhere but the net) It's silly really.
It cant be their mentality because I've tried attacking and normal mentalities, my team carve out chances, but nothing gives. Have a look at this match .pkm and see what I mean. I got so frustrated with this game that I created a tactic that has so much movement, the opposition cannot stop me from getting chances, yet it's like the game engine refuses to let me win, it's punishing me for creating such a battering ram of a tactic by having high calibur strikers like Luca Toni shoot wide from 4 yards out. On top of slapping me, the game engine then has Huth score a freekick from 30 some yards out when he's a poor FK taker at best. Hilarity ensues.
My team mentality is one notch above Normal.
Passing is short.
Tempo is Normal bordering on slow
Focus Passing: Down both wings
If you guys need in depth player mentality screenshots I'll take em.

First thing to look at are the formation screen for this game.
* Middlesbrough looks to play defensive and compact
* Your attack formation looks like a 3 year old has scribbled some lines. (No pun intended)
On to the game itself.
* You play to narrow, you have to many player's in the same area in the box and it's ease for Middlesbrough
Def/Mid to mark your players. They have almost 2 to 1 players more than you inside the box.
My tips for this game / type of game is.
* Play wider
* Drop the cross sArrow on your wings (Giggs - Ronaldo), instead use swap postion in player instruction.
* Drop the fArrow or use only fArrow to AMC position for Att.Mid (Scholes), instead use the "FWR" and/or "RWB"
in the player instruction for Att.Mid (Scholes)
* Since middlesbrough play defensive and compact you must try to get them out off their def.positions so your
players can pass the "T-Ball" and try "Focus passing down both flanks" in Team instructions.
The best tactics are always K.I.S.S No pun intended again
