I am playing a 442 Defensive with sarrows. Mixed/direct passing. Dline deep/mixed.
All players are set on a defensive mentality except forwards.
Closing down is mixed except DCs are set to own area.
Doesn't seem to matter whether I adjust the FBs or not (lower fwd, CD, etc.).
Not sure what else to add to help analyze the problem, but here is what is happening.
I am finding that forwards still routinely get behind my DCs for 1v1s with the keeper or easy tap ins...and they are pretty solid for the league.
Someone mentioned that clicking CA might actually increase getting caught out like this, but I was always under the impression that CA should be clicked when using this type of defensive/counterattacking formation.
Instead of worrying about conceding, maybe focus on using the space they leave effectively. Have you read some of the topics in this subforum (mainly the ones about 262 and creative freedom) that could help your passing options for your players. If you can keep possession and get through their lines more often it would seriously help your winning chances. The most dangerous chances are created when one of your players get caught in possession near your own box, or at least that holds for me.
