I'm playing in the Danish First Division after just being promoted from the Second Division East....
I find that where my defenders were more than capable of defending against the calibre of players in the lower league, now I have been promoted I'm coming up against teams such as AAB and the 2nd tier teams of Copenghagen and various other top danish teams....now that is hapenning I find that my defenders are coming up against a pacier attack...
Anyone have any advice to deal with this? apart from buying better players...prior to winning promotion I was an amatuer Danish team with no funds...so it's loans or frees for me and quality is obviously in sparse supply....
to add....I can score...scoring and creating chances is not a problem, just my defence being ripped apart...
Thanks, I was defending deep but had their wingers being tight marked, so I switched that off. I also had both central defenders on 5 or 6 mentality....I moved it back all the way...
Got a nice 5-0 result away from home to one of my relegation candidates....don't think I've got the quality to do anything against teams from the top half.
defend deep and try using a sweeper behind your 2 CDs, dont tick offside trap, put barrows on your side mans(M R/L) and put your DMC mentality equal to yours CD mentality.
If the opp strikers have sarrows also, show them onto the inside foot so they have to get past the middle of your defense(more congestionated).
If you play with 3 CDs is also a good idea to put sarrows on them to protect your wings(they will come narrow back again when its the time).
Hope it helps
