Default Gravesend & Northfleet

Season 1

The board and fans both want to avoid relegation and I have zero cash to improve the squad.

The Scout is sent out and I try and get an ex-west ham defender as a 2nd scout to improve my
chances of finding some players. I also open negotiations with an ex-ireland player to become my assistant and a few other people I met in the pub one day to become coaches.

On the player front I quickly secure the services of a corner flag loving left winger,
an ex-west ham midfielder and some bloke who lasted one season at stoke (Hmm maybe I shouldnt have bothered). I check out the loan market and after a quick call a promising forward agrees to join me for the season from....you guessed it West Ham.

I let my new assistant deal with the pre-season friendlies and we end up with a win and a loss, not too bad...

Now for the real thing...

Another classic example where I think the loaners are screwed in CM4. It is just a matter of "ask and they will come" of any player on loan. What promising player in his right mind would go to a Conference side from the PL, even if his parent side was the Hammers.

Not saying you have done anything wrong Dst, just that the loaning issue in general is a burr in my bum at present.

I kinda agree with you Tai, however West Ham have a history of lending out their young players to lower league clubs and maybe even conference sides, I'll have to check that though. I'll also mention that West Ham and a number of other 1st and Prem clubs refused to lend me other players who were listed for loan, so there is some control.

However I do agree that some of the loan deals you can get are extremely dodgy, in a previous game as QPR I had a guy from a dutch club who a) would never be on loan in the first place and b) would never want to play for QPR. I hope this is fixed in EP3 cos like you I think its totally unrealistic.

In this game I'm trying to be as realistic as I can but my scouts, who have been out for 3 months now, have found a grand total of 0 players

August

Won 1 Drew 2 Lost 1. Not a bad start and I was pleased with a 2-0 win away against preseason promotion favorites the daggers. My new signings were doign ok with the stoke reject and the hammer loaner both
scoring.

September

Won 2 Drew 2. Great month, stoke boy scores 4 in 4!! In the top half of the league, Im really pleased dunno how long itll last tho

October

Won 2 Drew 1 Lost 1. Conintuned to push for a play off position and got as high as 4th. Also won 8-0 in the FA cup v Whitley Bay, something wrong there I think
