seams like a pretty obvious answer but i have noticed alot of people describing players in a way that makes it pretty obvious who they are (e.g. 17 year old manchester united left footed striker signed yesturday)doesnt name a player but is this still player naming? (btw dont go looking for this player cos i made him up just then)

Rule of Thumb. If he's in the game as a player, it's player naming.

Pele does not count as player naming. Maybe.

I suspect you're trying to be specific, but I can't think of a particular example for the first one (at least in the player ranks - I can think of two star managerial candidates) and several come to mind for the second.

Not that that changes your point any - I just thought I'd mention it.
