A bit late to the thread, but needless to say I take offence to that statement and predict that iajafer and all other scottish poofs will burn in hell because he said that. I wish it didn't have to be this way, but I fear my lowly skills will not be able to prevent this from happening.
It is sad though I liked the Scots.

If you use the ye old "Sign only players that your scout finds" you can't have a problem with the ethics of above.
Oh, and I like the Danish. Especially with ice cream & custard. |

The problem with this whole "Do I sign, Braveheart and the over 35 brigade or not", argument is IMHO that the other Conference clubs are riddled with them.
Personally I don't sign 'em, but I did think that I was left a bit disadvantaged when I seen a 34 year old Duncan Disorderly bagging a hat-trick against my Trickies side.
I think that this is something that should be addressed at the programming level but also by LLaMa's. It's just another thing that we have to battle against.
Never liked people from Dundee, now I know why. |

Stop clambering for the moral high ground and enjoy the game. Again if it's in it's allowed. IMHO.
By the way just wait until we Scots get independence then we'll give you something to be sad about.

That's one viewpoint, but it's not the LLM viewpoint. Clambering the moral highground as you put it is by your own definition what we do. the game allows you to download a supertactic that takes advantage of the game engine and win the champions league in 5 or 6 seasons with Leigh, but that goes agaisnt the LLM ethics so it cannot be done.
That the game allows things to happen doesn't make it LLM. Don't know if I can make it any clearer than that.
This is not personal, but if you can't see that I can't see how you would fit into this forum.
and ther's no way a Dane (or any other Scandinavian) will fear a Scot, we're vikings you know |

It all comes down to judgement. IRL, would a 34-year old ex-Italian international just released from £80k p/w at Juve opt to end his career at Leigh RMI? No, of course he wouldnt. Perhaps same-country ex-internationals are just about onside (as A2K suggested), but a former Brazillian World Cup winner in the conference?? (Pure example).
As alkinear said though, its a pain when other C-Clubs sign em because you're too stubornly addearing to supposed ethics. Perhaps only sign a player if clubs from a similar level/league are also interested? I think thats quite a good guage to realism.
Davy A, its not moral high ground, its opinion as to the way the game should be played. Isnt that what LLM is?
Oh and Tyson-guy. Fat Geordie and Useless Elvis Impersonator are where they are for a reason - no-one else would take them, not even my beloved Grecians They were exceptions, not the rule.

Indeed, CM4 is not real life. CM4 is a game. You buy a game for enjoyment. Therefore, you play the game however you enjoy it best. And therefore, thats why all of this is only suggestion, not the rule.
Surely you must admit Rekwob, some transfers that are possible in CM defy logic? If you beat United 1-0, you dont restart (unless your PC crashes, thank you Bill Gates) because its a match result. Your tactics and line-up have over come theirs. The game has mis-judged just like Big Grumpy Scotsman *might* do IRL (ahem, ahem, York, ahem). Certain transfer scenerios however, to me, at the extreme upper end of this are explotation of game loop holes. Nothing more.

Surely the first is a null point? Of course I cant prove that it wouldnt happen, so I follow past precedents. Name me one ex-Braz (oh you know) has gone to the conference, of Division 1, 2 or 3 for that matter?
BYL, Prove to me that by 2010 that we wont have a time machine that allows managers to alter the fabric of reality and give their club loads of money or an enhanced reputation (see where Im going with this?).
Secondly, yes, people should draw their own conclusions and play LLM the way they feel it should be played. Theres just nothing like a healthy bit of debate to help shape your own view and understanding of it.
