Two quick points:
1) "aren't" is, indeed, the correct spelling
2) Coder won't hear you. He's banned |

Wow, this thread is really going places. I hope nobody minds then I refer back to an earlier issue that's just as off-topic as everything since.
Does the problem with the scouts not finding anybody only occur when you scout a region? Because in my new Kettering game my scout is finding loads of players after I assigned him to England only.
Or do you mean they just don't find free transfer players? That's bothering me too as of course I don't have any transfer funds, but hey, the board generously lets me spend 40% of my transfer revenue, maybe I'll have 1k after selling a few players.

Now then, now then, now then, boys and girls,
jewellery, jewellery, jangle, jangle.
Dear Jim,
could you fix it for me to sort out the following bugs in CM4 to make it worth playing for those who worship Frank.
1. Please let my scouts find players who are out of contract. All the other clubs seem to do it without difficulty.
2. If I do find a player through the search screen who is out of contract, can I sign him at £400 per week instead of Dundee Violet getting him for £50 per week. I'm sure the player would be much happier with my team.
3. Please stop all these johnny foreigners sign for Cumnock and Leith - why would an Estonian international want to sign for them for 2 buttons a week.
4. When I try to sign a player who gets £50 a week and a £2 goal bonus from Huntly, offering him £400 a week and playing bonuses, can he at least consider getting a 800% increase in salary as quite reasonable instead of expecting more than my club can possibly offer.
Thanks Jim. Can I get one of those little silver square pendants on a nice white ribbon please?
Ta.

EP3 has been duly d/l'ed and greased up into my game - running 4.05 is far superior. Lots of little bugs of a general nature which would be inappropriate to berate here but generally much better than before.
I think that this game has been fairly harmful to those who want to win in an LLM style as it is very frustrating not being able to get in any sort of frees by the most puritan of LLaMa methods.
One might argue that this makes the game far harder, which of course it does, but generally speaking most LLM rules are for realism only - making the game harder is simply a bi-product.
If the game feels unrealistic - e.g. Pavlova Tirimasu, that well known continental winger, signs for Whitehill Welfare ahead of a 3rd division side offering 10 times the salary - then that does make the game harder but detracts from the playing experience in an unpleasant way.
I am quite sure CM3 was riddled with flaws at first and certainly not as instantly polished as the later versions of CM2 but it was a far superior game by the end of its run. CM4 will be no different but I will be a very unhappy camper if I have to fork out another £30 odd quid come November/December to get CM4 03/04 with everything properly sorted out.
Now for something good:
Scouts and coaches. Couldn't get them for love nor money in CM3 if you were with a LLM team. Most coaches would rather stay on the dole.
Now decent coaches can be had for very modest salaries (I managed to get a former international player with good attributes for £40 a week :o ) and I even managed to get a scout. Unheard of. KUTGW! as far as this goes.
Getting players on loan - haven't tried this yet but surely it's a good thing if you can get decent young players on loan. I seem to remember a certain current England Captain going on loan to some Lower League team at the start of his career. It does happen and I suppose its a fine balance between making it too hard (unrealistic) and too easy (unrealistic).
Can't see any reason why a decent striker at a big SPL club who needs games wouldn't go on loan for a short spell to a Scottish 3rd division side, provided he had no chance of any first team experience at the time.
