I guess a good guide to where you should scout is to look at the teams around you. I'm managing in Belgium at the moment where there are no player restrictions and there are players fro everywhere, and most teams still have a solid core of Belgians/French/Dutch. So I try to keep that same balance but I also have a Honduran, a Salvadoran and a Gabonese. But Africans and Latin Americans are not uncommon in Belgian teams.

But if you were in the Conference in England, nearly all players are from the British Isles so you might stick to scouting England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland until you move up the divisions and expand your scouting to Europe, and eventually across the globe. (Scouting where you can tour works well for UK teams!)

There are no "rules" as such. Only suggested guidelines and no-one is going to get too upset with you for having your own scouting methods, as long as you keep things realistic

Again mate, it is horses for courses.

I think it is realistic if you are playing in Portugual to have a scout look over the talent in Brazil due to the similar culture & language. With the lack of any costings to send these scout here, there & everywhere you have to put some limit on the amount of times they scout these regions if in your oponion they should be able to do so.

There was a post on here recently asking if your nationality was different from the country in which you were managing should you not be able to scout the country of your origin. I can't personally see a problem in that, but you should restrict something like this to once a year.

I actally got a RL email from a "agent" in South America recommending a couple of players which my club could try out.

The discription was very brief, and if I was a RL Manager I wouldn't be signing anyone without a first hand report from my scouts.
