As for the regulars that don't seem to post anything, they may have chosen to give an update previously. Now, they can't be arsed as there's far too many updates.
There's more to LLM than updates.

quote:
I noticed a few semi-regulars who do not seem to have threads, but post into other threads regularly. Most of their posts are aggresively attacking the thread initiator or someone's reply.
I wonder would it not be a good idea to ease off on these attacks, and simply allow the Mod's to reply to bad threads, pointing out their errors (or dishing out warnings where needed) and explaining any LLM rules necessary. The Mod could then close the offending thread and thats it !! No slanging matches required, yet the poster gets the message quickly.

I totally agree with the second point and I have mentioned this to Ian privately before. People, for whatever reason, don't understand what this forum is supposed to be about so they post stupid threads that infuriate the 'semi-regulars' that have been around forever and seen hundreds of idiots come and go. For that reason, I think that the FAQ, the header and forum description probably all need to be re-written so people better understand what this forum is about before they decide to come in here, but that's a whole other matter.
I can't possibly agree with the comment in bold though. That reaches Wicom-esque levels of wrongness.

Apart from the fact that the club doesn't keep the money (at least that's the way it works in English LLM). The money goes to charity - usually to help those ex-footballers who have fallen on hard times.

Updates are fine, cool and dandy if you only make a thread of this kind once in a blue moon. A career over 10 or 15 years for instance.
If you want to make a thread every time you start a new game. Don't.
As for some "semi-regulars" such as myself, the only reason i have turned into a poster of the semi variety is because this place is full of pish at the mo.
As for flaming the plurks that come in here, not reading the header etc. They deserve it.
As iaj says, it's ALL about the 2nd post baby.

Some good points made here. Nice to see some people bother getting to know the forum first before ploughing straight in...
Like I've said before most updates aren't worth reading (or writing) until the savegame's at least 5 seasons old, so I'd like to see a rule as such. That'd sort out most of the half-hearted efforts. Stick to one update per season (unless something amazing happens), and a few short paragraphs is more than enough.
I suppose I'm one of the 'semi-regulars' you speak of, but I haven't really bothered posting on here for a few weeks, because I haven't really recognised most people on here recently. But it looks like there's quite a few good posters on here amongst the flood of idiots.
