Default Update problem. (8.0.1)
I downloaded the update and ran it. (I have Vista home Basic) And it seemed to update fine, it said it had.

Went into the game, and went to start a new game, but the update isnt there. Tried again running the update in XP and with Admin premissions but still the same. The update folders there in Documents > Sports Interactive > Football Manager 2008 > db - So i dont really know what the problem is.

Can anyone help?

I think it is still the default database, just an updated one. Try starting a new game with the default database and then go onto the game status page and have a look at the version, it should say 8.0.1, hopefully.
