I spend 100k on a Columbian player, he didn't get a wwork permit, I still signed him and sent him to my Belgium feeder Bocholt (I think it is) anyway he was their for 2 years and his contract was expiring, any time I offered him a new one, he accepted but it said he had, had a work permit turned down and it didn't go through, now he's left and is no longer my player, why couldn't I renew his contract and send him back to Bocholt!? Help please!
When i spent £7.5mil on a brazilian defender from Schalke (i think...sum german team) he had a work permit problem. Wudnt join any of my feeder teams. A season passed he was moaning about first team football. I HAD to flog him for £1mil. WASTE OF MONEY!!!
A player without a work permit can agree an intial contract but cannot agree a contract extension. This is why all players needing work permits should be signed on a 4 year contract at the least.
If your player has been signed on a 2 or 3 year deal, then you have two options - allow the players contract to expire. The player can then choose to stay with your team on a rolling monthly contract and you will still be allowed to send him on loan to Belgium. Once he has completed 3 years at Belgium, you can offer him the contract extension. However, during this time, another team can offer him an initial contract and sign him for free.
Another option is to allow his contract to expire, and then release him on a free transfer. You can then attempt to sign him again, which counts as a new initial contract and you will be given the option to send him out on loan again. The downside to this is that the player may not wish to join your team again after being released.

Is this a rule in england or are you just describing how it works in FM? I always thought this was a bug.
