Default How do you keep the yellow cards down?

It's the middle of Feb and I have a fairly decent MC who's about to serve yet another ban for getting his 15th yellow of the season. He's never been sent off so I can't have a go at him for his lack of discipline.

Is there any way I can warn him about his behaviour? Or modify it (within the game)?

For your info he has...
Aggression 16
Bravery 14
Determination 19
Tackling always set to normal.

If you're anything like me, you wait for the next patch in the hope it finally solves it. And you get the urge to bang your head on a wall when the likes of Jimbo tell you that the current patch already fixed it.

The likes of Jimbo are a lot more aware of the problems and fixes in the patches than most.

If you want to keep the yellows down, don't have everyone closing down so much, lower tacking, and lower tempo. Also, makesure your players have a good tackling attribute

I totally agree. But I have done everything you suggest (honestly!). And even if I set Michael Carrick to hard tackling, he's still not the type of player to get booked literally every game.
