I have downloaded a number of facepacks but none of the pictures show. They are in xfm2006\data\graphics\pictures\players\eng\premi ership folder - is this correct?

Nope: save them in xfm2006\data\graphics\pictures\players\ - take a look at http://community.sigames.com/eve/for.../m/5532017181, where Frankie posted a list of directories where you put various addins.

Turn off skin caching in the preferences menu and restart FM.

Oops - I thought that you were referring to facepacks in general. Ignore my previous post.

This sounds like you need to turn off Skin Cache in your preferences and restart the game or change to a different skin and back to refresh the changes
