I've been trying to sort this for 4 days now and it's really doing my head in! I have/had never downloaded anything before so I had no idea but thanks to some people helping I am getting closer, I hope! I downloaded the correct file and extracted to a folder I'd created in MYDOCUMENTS>NAME>SI>FM>GRAPHICS>BAC KGROUND, I had to create the last two myself. When I extracted the newconfig file there, which is the up to date stadium file I can open it and see all the names i.e England, Germany USA, which in turn if I click on I can see Prem, Bundesliga etc, so I assume that's all ok. I do all the correct things in the preferences in the game, tick and untick everything and when I have changed them it says loading new skin etc, but in the game it doesn't work! HELP!

Yep, can I ask why that would make a difference? I thought I'd have a shot at loading a skin and that seemed to work ok, so I really have no idea why the backgrounds don't? Is it possible I'm doing something wrong when creating the graphics folder etc? I only ask cos the skins one is already there and that worked ok.

CDocuments and Settings\YOUR NAME\My Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2008\skins

its meant to be in here (similar), might sound stupid but these folders that you have downloaded are they zip or rar files. if yes have you uncompressed them before you stick them in backgrounds folder ??

sorry insted of skins it should say graphics and then backgrounds inside graphics folder

also if you have 2 users and put files in their user folders and log on as yourself it will not work. you have to be logged into account that has si folders, this does not matter cause you are only user

Cheers for response, so I should but the background file in FM 2008/SKINS? I read that if you have a skin downloaded you should create a seperate graphics folder and save the backgrounds there? They are rar files and I think they're uncompressed, if not that may be the issue I guess...

ur right its graphics folder you need. have you ticked use backgrounds pictures and unticked skin cache ?? i'm at the work at the moment so cant see exactly where i have installed my stuff but if you want to i'm gonna be on msn tonight (after 8-9) so could halp you then and walk you through it.

I have unticked the skin cache and ticked use background pictures, can I ask, when you tick use back ground pictures should a drop down of the file or anything be there to see? What I'll do is have a look to see if the files are uncompressed, that may be the problem. If that still doesn't work an MSN walk through would be very helpful. Cheers.

when u tick there is nothng that asks u for files or anything, so dont worry about that. when u have downloaded these files what did you do with them ?? did you use winrar to extract these files ??

i know how irritating it can get when it does not work. i makes a huge difference having graphics ( i got logos, player backgrounds, facepacks and stadium backgrounds)
