Has anybody else really struggled to get to grips with this game. I have read the tactics bible to death and tried to implement it but all it seems to do is give you a small reprieve, then the game comes up with a new way to trash you.
Like many people, and it has been done to death, but the amount of goals to chances ratio is pathetic. The tactics give you hints but if you have a forward with 17+ finishing, high composure and decisions and they miss one on one after one on one then your tactics are right for creating the chances but something else is preventing the goals. I understand the arguments that strikers don't score in every game and I accept this but I have never had a striker score more than 20 goals in a season.
This is just one of the many frustrating elements in the game. Not being an FM player who goes for the big teams I find this game impossible also as I have never been able to make money in it either. Every season is just minor profits so I have never really been able to strenghten squads to push on. Is the 'Other Costs' element in expenditure just something to restrict you money, does anyone know what this is? With Espanyol this ran at around £10m a season.
As FM is in my blood I will keep trying in order to gain some joy from the latest release, I don't want to take a Conf North team to the Champs League as this is not what the game is about, as with most FM gamers all I want is the chance to be competitive. At the moment I honestly cant see what opportunities this new game gives you to do this
