Hey all,

I have read a lot of threads from the tactics bible to learn more about tactics and I applied them to my team.

I started with Iraklis in Greece. My prognose was 5th and the board wanted me to be in the middle.

I made a 4-1-4-1 Tactic and it worked great.
I was doing pretty good, standing 4th! After newyear my tactic came in as favourite. This re-ranking stuff kicked in. And now I'm doing ****. I have tried to change my tactic a little but nothing works. I tried a 4-4-1-1. Nothing!
4-4-2 Nothing!
My players keep doing worse.

In the begin when I noticed my team was not doing well, I change the passing style or tempo or the witdh. I played a little with it. This has no effect now.

It seems like the others know what I'm going to do and counter it. Even against the teams I should make an easy victory I can get max 5 times at goal and have low ball percentage.

What can I do to fight this hard game?
Stop? Or can I only play a big team if I want fun?

Aye have had trouble with re-ranking too.

Have you tried marking out their better players ? I seem to have had some better matches taking out their key-player. The main thing to do is look whats going wrong during the game and look at what you can try to do to counter it.

I too am looking deeper at the re-ranking part of the game, since it has been a real pain at times.

You wonder why? Your having your players playing 3 diffrent formations in a season? Changing formation during the season wont help what will help is changing the way your team plays if you have a team that has good a fairly good squad you can slow down the pace of your game and create better chances for your strikers

@ Vinsanity666: I will try to play a little with marking their better players.

@benfica4alex: Yeah, I know changing tactics isn't good. I only tried it for 5 games now. I already play short with low pace. Should I even lower it more? Except when it's bad weather, then I play direct. I read that in the tactics for dummies.

well if you have a decent squad you shouldbe able to play like i do

I have tried a home game with direct passing, high tempo and width. It worked but my defence was very bad, and cause of that they managed to win from me. They all had 5's. First time I had this.

Second game I changed it back to short passing and slow tempo. The rest mixed. And some individual settings, based on their stats.

I suprisely won away from Panathiakos, played a very good game and now I have a euro ticket

Only two games to go and the season is over.
I also noticed it depends how my opponont is playing.
If they are doing 4-4-2, I can counter it with my 4-1-4-1 tactic and win. If they use 2 DM's, then it's seems useless.

We'll see how it goes :d

Next game was against PAOK, they are ranked 6th.
I lost with 0-1 home But we had more chances then them but they managed to score one. So it was a good game but I had a little bad luck. I played width, tempo high and passing direct cause.

Next game was against Ionikos, away. I suddenly got a few injuries and I had to change my tactics. Two good defenders are out and not enough subs. So I decided to change the VMC to AMC. The weather was storm. So I decided to play direct instead of short.

The result was 1-1. They had more shot but we had the same shots on goal. So I presume the tactic isn't that good to play with. I have to keep my 4-1-4-1. And that I have to keep my passing to short and tempo slow.

ah well just keeping messing about with it untill you find the rite tactic it all depends on what sort of style u base it on. My Juve squad is all based on pace from the MC all the way to FC but i still make them play slow football as i think is suits the italian league better than fast football
