Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default Which tempo do you recommend?

I have a problem: either my AML and AMR plays well but then my AMC wount perform. Or my AMC plays well and the 2 other donsnt.
So the question is:
My tempo, would you recommend that I try to play slow and short passing?
I have always played high tempo, cause I beleave the better my players are, the higher tempo they should play, agree?

Current tactic

I would say use a high tempo and focus play down the wings as you have 2 great wingers. Play your AMC on a free role and get him making plenty of forward runs to support your striker.

It mite also be worth setting Villa as a target man and have balls played in for him to run onto. Also try setting your AMC as a playmaker if he has good enough stats (passing, flair, creativity, decisions).

Im no expert myself but i hope this helps you.

-DO NOT use a playmaker with a great team like valencia, playmakers r basically nly for when you have an exceptional player thats better than the rest of the team.

-I'd concentrate passing down the flanks.

-Short passing will work wel given the quality of your team, although have the back 4 set to direct to clear the ball.

-As for tempo Valencia can probably pull off just about anything, I'd have it set a little slow to match the short passing game.

That maybe true in some cases yes. I dont disagree with you mate but at the same time i have used it before and it worked wonders (i was playing as barca, ronnie, deco, messi etc...) it wont hurt to give it a try and see how it goes you know...trial and error.

quick tempo + wide width?

maybe you should try a quick/narrow or a slow/wide playing style...

The manual states that tempo and passing are "inextricably linked."

I would personally reccommend you match it roughly to the same notch on your passing slider.

The slow tempo thing dosnt work at all, I now have passing on 6 and tempo on 16 and it works ok... not more than ok.

If you play slow with anything other than short passing, you will see your striker passing back to GK.
