I hardly ever score from corners, is there a tactic which could be employeed to help?

couple of things you could do.

get your best corner taker to take them and aim them at the near post.
have your two best headers set to near post flick on and challenge keeper and you should get a few.

also have free-kicks set to aim for best header.

Taylor got 22 for my Newcastle team one season doing this.
