Hi, starting as thurrock on 'automatic' status im having huge problems getting results..
My team is very weak and im trying to combat this by being tatically sound using a solid basic formation 442 def.settings with a few tweaks on my squad stengths (small as they be) but cannot seem to avoid relegation.
Do i just play long in possession and hussle my opposition in defence as skill is so bad?
Anyone got advice on any team instructions/tatics for a very underskilled team or some ploy to combat opponents formations/style..
Looked thru most posts and cant seem to find a solution maybe ive missed something and a link would be appreciated ..
Regards
thx fran musta missed that link its helpful..
has anyone had any success at this level with a useless team and how have the approached each game tatically?
I am currently Fisher in the conference South. I followed Rashidi's tips on setting up a tactic and watched how I was conceding goals and read the post match stats to see where my team was losing out. I am currently 5th in the league and got to round 1 of the FA cup going out to Doncaster. I have only lost 4 matches but drew a lot. Sorted that out now though. Things are going well
Take care of your team-talks, it's very important and have a big impact on your players performances. also use the media and player interactions to your benefit.
The assumption with lower league teams is that because sides have less skills you should play a more direct or long balled game to get the ball down the field away from your goal.
A good idea at that level is too find the best header you can eithr on loan or purchase and hoof the ball to him at every opportunity.
