Rep Power: 0 | Adapting a player to where YOU want him to play
Hey guys, i currently am in 2014 of my season with Man Utd, i play a 4-1-2-1-2 (diamond shape in the middle with left wing, right wing, Attacking midfielder centre and defensive midfielder centre, then just 4 at the back and 2 up front) My team atm is : Rooney, Eto, Bojan and Tevez (strikers), Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Silva, Messi, Dos santos (midfield), Terry, Ferdinand, Puyol and Evra (defence). I have Pirlo and Mascherano as interchangeable defensive midefielders. I just recently purchased Fabregas with my very extensive budget but he doesnt adapt to my tactics playing bang in the middle of midfield which i tend to play no1 in, if i used him as an attacking midfielder whats the best way to make him adapt to this position, do i need to set some sort of training up? or do i just play him here consistantly. I can't afford too many defeats, even though im ranked 1 manager in the world and i've won all competitions each year consectively, i slipped up last year and came 2nd prem and really need to come out strong or they threaten to sack me!. Ta guys |

2014? Your defence must be almost ancient
You could retrain cesc as amc (or dmc if you want a playmaker there). For the short term: see how he plays with a barrow to mc.

Play him as AMC, but give him time. Every player needs time to adapt, just some players do it quickly, others need up to 6 months. Check stats and see if he gets ball as often as other players who play AMCs (check after match stats, pass atempts should tell the story). Also, check out who Cesc likes in your squad and who likes him. I find it helps a new signing adapt faster.

Rep Power: 0 | hehe yes, my defence is banging on a bit, but what i dont understand is why update something that isnt too broken? are there drawbacks of older players even if there stats are almost maxed out?.
I have this problem regarding other areas of the game, i seem to find amazing players, put them toghether and still get beat by people like Mansfield Town at home lol just always happens , are there any ways to get round this? or is this just SI creating a game that remains playable and not boring winning all the time.
Btw, i never change the options or tactics for my players, i prefer using the normal for most things, i've used ronaldinho as a playmaker in season 1 but i fell into a 3 game lose streak soon after 5 wins in a row!, soo confusing :S , any help is appreciated guys!, ty, Romsta.

I wouldn't play with a playmaker in a team like that. I believe your whole midfield is good enough so why let them pass all the balls to ronaldinho? Then you're on man-mark away from a hard game...

| Don't you think your team has too many brilliant leaders? Each one is probably the best both IRL and in the game, but how they blend together? IRL such team would't stand a chance in the long run.

some nice points here guys, im taking them all into consideration, so ure saying essentially a player on equally as good stats in 2014, un-heard of etc, would be better than a world renowned player who all know at adapting?. I can some-what agree actually, i see alot from my assistant manager about players coming into my ranks finding it hard to adapt to such an ambitious team.

| The worst part - even within team you may have trouble. Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Silva, Messi, Dos Santos, Pirlo, Mascherano, Fabregas - 9 players, each one would be # 1 choice in any other team (you are in 2014, so Silva, Messi, Dos Santos, Fabregas are not kids alredy, though Pirlo is a little old I guess). You have to rotate them regularly, yet some of them would have much less time than others, and all definitely have less time than they actually deserve. Plus your reserve and young players have no chance to make it even close to the first team, which is also not good for the team spirit. IRL it would not take long for such a squad to fall apart, and I guess the game also has somethin in mind about it |
