First of all I do apologise if this is the wrong forum for this topic but I wasn't sure where to write it and seeing as you guys have always given me good advice in the past I thought it might be a good place to start.
Anyway, there is a player currently in my Q.P.R. game who I am hoping to sign game as he is out of contract - it expired a month ago - but when I go to offer him a contact I still have to pay his club compensation! Surely if his contract has expired I shouldn't have to pay them off. Or am I wrong?
I'm sorry if I am being stupid and the answer is obvious!
if you're in charge of a bigger club the best thing to do is add him to your shortlist. i do this with players whose contract is or has run out and they remain at the club, eventually the player should walk away from the club within a few weeks and you'll be able to get him for free. works 9 out of 10 times with me. might also be an idea to declare some sort of interest in him if he doesn't end up leaving the club.
