It took me 10 seasons with Barnet, the first three trying to get out of Division 3, and I also suffered a relegation along the way! The lure of London eventually got me a couple of generated Brazilian internationals!

I find it takes a good 8-10 seasons for me to build a club up to that level. It took me about 10 seasons at Hampton and Richmond, starting in the Conference, and about 10 seasons at Ipatinga in Brazil to qualify for South American competition.

Took me 12 seasons to scrape an Intertoto slot with East Stirling.

In Wales it's much easier to make Europe, but it took me 14 seasons to break through into the Group Stage of the CL with Oswestry Town.

Where's Europe?

In the dim and distant past I can vaguely remember managing in France, Belgium and Italy, but apart from that the closest I have come to Europe is playing Dover in the Conference

ten years so far and i've taken emley from D3 to D2!

i don't stay in one division for more than 2 or 3 seasons, promotion or relegation always follows. mid-table mediocrity eludes me.

europe... i've never made it into europe with a LL side. i always seem to hit a wall in D1, when player wage demands start to massively exceed income because of the very small crowds.

dunno how other people get round this.

I suppose you just have to be exceptionally stingy! It can be done, but once you pay one player a decent wage, they all want one.
