Default The Wandering Barman Returns

I posted quite regularly on these boards for a while back around the turn of the year and had a few laughs and enjoyed comming on the boards. However I remember how most of the posts were negative about update threads and how CM4 wold halt all this. So it was to my dissapointment that i saw that the Mods had to forcably ban update threads. I understand the decision but wonder why it got so bad. I think that ultimatly it may be the result of general unrest with CM4 im not sure about others opinions but the speed and general detail of the game makes it much less user friendly as people struggle to keep up with updates released, and learning the ropes of the new game. I looked forward to CM4 as much as everyone and shared in the anger of th postpond release dates, but i think CM4 has been a letdown its almost like 90% of a game, and i for one am really reluctant to get to heavily into LLM on this version because of all the bugs. Basically i was just wondering what the others amoungst you felt? I hope that people like Craigtheman, LFC Fan are still about, sorry if im covering old ground, just wanted to get a feel of the boards in a brief sense to get back up to speed

Cheers Wimb

Ha Ha Cheers Rekwob remember you too, cheers thanks for that sorry about the sentences it is what 1:35!. I didnt really know what had been covered and no i didnt search the forums but i didnt particuarly want to trawl through the archives. Seems to be some hitchs with people getting into the new game but in a nutshell what are people mainly concerned with?

The beauty of LLM is having a long long game, which is something you just have not been able to do with CM4 at present. EP3 at first gave me hope, but it came crashing down when I found some glaring issues with the game from LLM point of view, which took what little enjoyment I had for CM4 away.

I'm giving CM4 one last chance when EP4 comes out. If it fails the "Taipan Test", I think I'll give the game a total miss until next season.

Just think of it as similar to a Welsh word.

Welcome back, Wimb. I'm one of the guys who went back to 01/02 (13 seasons in with Kettering) and like Taips I'll give CM4 another go with EP4, but I'm not holding my breath for a good outcome until the next game issue. Speed, or the absolute lack of it, is the main sticking point with me apart from the total inability to play even a remote resemblance of an LLM game.

Cheers guys thats been a help, when i bought the game yesterday i thought oh no what is this its too slow and awful, but i thought it was just me thinking it, its a shame after such a long wait realy. Im giving it a fair crack with Farnborough with EP3 (i presume 3rd enhancment pack?) any idea what SI Games have been saying bout our concerns?

OIOI Wimb,

I am still here. I am still playing CM4 and had an excellent run with Forest Green rovers. Nearly got relegated.

Slowness was never an issue for me, although yes, it is slower than CM 01-02. I still like it and it will get a lot better when ep4 is out as scouting is going to be fixed.

Welcome back.

Cheers Craig, lol good to hear bout the Rovers, been playing CM4 today it seems ok maybe i was too quick to judge it but still it isnt as good as Cm01/02 for reliability. I dont think i could go back now though would seem like such a backward step, do you know if EP4 will fix current saved games or do we have to start over?
