Iajafer - I have not "dissed" the scouting guidlines, I was just saying that I do not think it would be that unrealistic to sometimes sign players in the ways that I have suggested in some circumstances. I see that you should use your scouts (and I do) to play realisticly but at times I buy players who are getting good average ratings at other clubs or scoring a lot of goals or tearing my defence apart when thay play against me because they have shown ME that they are good players and worth buying.
About players not being as good in the game as they are in real life, I think quite a lot players ARE actually about as good as they are in real life in the CM4 game and I think that most of the time the researchers get it right with lower league teams.

as stated before in Dilemma and probably a hundred other threads around using prior knowledge...

quote:
Everytime you start a new game, from whatever is year zero in your version, you are a fresh faced new manager.

Your knowledge of players is limited. That's why you have scouts, it's why you have "fog of war" on. It's why your reputation is crap. Hell, when you first start at a club you barely have any knowledge of your own players, let alone those at other clubs/unattached. You have a fair knowledge of some of the bigger players at top division clubs, because they're always in the news. But none of them would sign for an unknown manager at some tin-pot club anyway.

If your scout recommends a player to you, you are likely to try and sign him.

How is that such a difficult concept to grab?

Also, don't forget that some of the lesser known players in the game (i.e. those that we are likely to come into contact with) generate with different abilities and potentials each time. Just because they were poo before doesn't mean they will be this time around.

Some of this may be out of context, but I can't be arsed to edit it.

It's a constant source of amazement to me and the other real LLaMas why guys go to such efforts to make the game easier for themselves by employing unrealistic means.

It's as if to wear the LLM Spirit is to wear a badge of honour (which I suppose it is, in its' way), as opposed to the elementary way of playing that it is.

I mean, it blows their credibility clean out of the water when they say they're LLM but don't bother about using the LLM guidlines, but still they argue.

If they want to make the game easier why don't they just go to GPG or T&TT and do it that way, and leave us the f*ck alone!!!

*Disclaimer: This was not directed at anyone in particular(iaj)*

It's probably best not directed at anyone at all.

"They" all move so fast you probably end up shooting one of "us" slower moving beasts in the leg instead

Aye, and my eyesight's not as good as it used to be

That's always been a source of some amuzement to me, btw. Eyesight. What other types of sight are there? Earsight? Nosesight? My Gran used to talk about going down the street for some "butcher meat". As opposed to "ironmonger meat" I suppose
