We did a thread a while ago that revealed the average age of the Forum user here was well into the late 20's, eldest being 48 (regular user) and youngest being 13 (never appeared since the thread).

I suppose that accounts for the "maturity" to some extent, but you find that the young guys (Rek's about 17 for instance) have a different outlook to life than the young fellas in other Fora.

What I'm saying is, it appears that LLM attracts more mature players regardless of age

What Iajafer said. Generally you get far better discussion in here, and users tend to stick around for a while once they've found this forum.

Before I found CM, I had mostly played Football Manager on the ZX Spectrum, and Premier Manager on the Amiga, which both made you start at the lowest level.

Seemed only natural that when I started with CM1(93/94 season) I played as a 3rd division club, usually Fulham or Scarborough.

quote:
The one thing I still find puzzling since my arrival here is that people come to "try out" LLM as though its a new item of clothing of pair of shoes.
If you've played CM for anything more then 6 months, you should have established your own playing ethics, whether they be cheat, cheat then cheat some more, start at the top and go nowhere, or play in a fashion that makes you lose sleep over where in the hell your blind scout is going to find a semi-fast forward from. From personal expereince, gamers find it hard to deviate from their established ground rules as these ethics are invariably why they enjoy playing the game. No particular commentry on z1100_uk or anyone else here, I just find it intriguing when people who have always played as Man Yoo with Super Tactics suddenly 'decide' to give LLM a go. [/Today's Irrelevant Thought]

Speaking personally (and as a browser rather than a LLM), I always play Liverpool when I first get any new CM because I've supported them for 27 years and it's sort of automatic.

I think people like me may gravitate to LLM because we're well aware that the game can be easy with millions in the bank and a big club/players to play with. We do also regularly read people saying that LLM is more fulfilling and challenging and might want to try it.

I played as Liverpool( ) once. Then, I birched myself and have been playing the true LLM way ever since.

That is truly bizarre, LFCfan adopting the LLM Liverpool() method

Maybe more Liverpool fans are getting attracted to LLM because to build a decent side you have to sell half of the bloody squad anyway (mentioning no names, of course).

My opinion about Liverpool might not be relevant, but I feel that Liverpool is a team of workers instead of pure technique and raw talent. I am a Club Brugge supporter and this club also has a rep as the team from the working class where Anderlecht is the club that's had more money all through history and have more white collar supporters.
I recognize fighting and physical play in LLM as only hard work will get you to achieve anything, and I think therefore I choose to play LL style.

Hope this all makes sense as I'm in the midst of exams and thus not thinking straight.
