How about if I clone a sheep and put that in charge of a club? Still unethical?
No particular reason for it mind, it would just be funny to see...
The one thing I still find puzzling since my arrival here is that people come to "try out" LLM as though its a new item of clothing of pair of shoes.
If you've played CM for anything more then 6 months, you should have established your own playing ethics, whether they be cheat, cheat then cheat some more, start at the top and go nowhere, or play in a fashion that makes you lose sleep over where in the hell your blind scout is going to find a semi-fast forward from. From personal expereince, gamers find it hard to deviate from their established ground rules as these ethics are invariably why they enjoy playing the game. No particular commentry on z1100_uk or anyone else here, I just find it intriguing when people who have always played as Man Yoo with Super Tactics suddenly 'decide' to give LLM a go. Seeing yet another Aldershot fan on the board (I'm sure I've seen at least two others post in the LLM forum), I reckon there's going to be a flood of ATFC games threads once an official update makes them playable. I'm certainly going to run them as soon as they're 'legal'.

The thought of users planning their update threads for when they are "legal" is a bit disconcerting.
And welcome z1100_uk, GL w/ Aldershot.

No, no, you misunderstood me! (Probably my fault for not explaining myself! :o). I wasn't intending breaking the forum rules by starting update threads, but implying that with their promotion making them playable Aldershot will probably get a lot more coverage on the LL forum than they do now.
Please don't card or ban me.

Dont believe them Tundercelt! Run now while you have the chance!
They are just trying to lure you in further to make it easier game. A few of them are a tad over-weight after the excessive newbie-gorging of the last couple of months and cant run as fast you see. |

Now this is what I was reffering to earlier. Not that any of the following is of much interest, but to put across what I was trying to say -
I started playing CM properly with the 96/97 version. After being introduced to it by a mate, my first forray was with Blackburn, and very quickly I toured the other big clubs in turn; Man Utd, Arsenal, Newcastle, Liverpool... At first winning back-to-back-to-back titles with the same tactic was fun, but soon it wore off. So I tried the lower teams, but still played on your "default" settings. I struggled like fook, and consequently (hold your breath) turned to the dark side. By now we had got as far as about CM3.
Although initially I thought I had found maximum enjoyment on the other side, very soon the effects crept in; mainly the loss of games through corruption, and more importantly, the discovery that you can only achieve sucess so many ways with infinite money, and I found myself enjoying the game less then when I was struggling on "default". Bored of the instant success at the top, and peeved with what I saw as an impossible bore at the bottom (cheat or lose constantly) I was set to give up on the whole CM thing when with literally my last venture I said "stuff it, no cheating, lets have a pure season, win, lose or draw". I came 23rd in Division 3 and loved every second of it to a level I didnt think possible. So over time I looked more and more at ways to improve the challange and slowly that got me to where I am now.
Dont get me wrong, by my posting here, I dont consider or call myself LLM. Thats your tag, your brand, not mine. The rules at the top of the forum are your rules not mine specifically. It just so happens that my way of playing the game mathces very closely the LLM Ethos, thus why I came here after joining.
My point behind all that drivel? It has taken me what? - 4,5,6 years of playing to get to this stage where now I know editors and super tactics go against the way I like to play. And my take on it is still evolving. I dare say if I thought about it hard enough, I could list a few differences between style now and what I considered correct six months ago.
What Im getting at is "LLM" is a very distinct playing style. And I still cannot get my head around the idea of people just becoming LLM over-night - whether ligitimatly seeking a new challange or not. The team you play with may change with a new game, but your personal ethics sure as hell dont.
Merk, those who switch from Real to LLM because of boredom? What happens when they get sick of losing all the time?
I applogise for the excessive length of this rant.
