Exploiting the fact that CM4 makes it too easy to get unrealistically good players for your crappy conference side would be cheating in my book, loaning players in general of course isn't. But this has been discussed many times before.

I only completed two full seasons because I got so annoyed with the game.

I finished 4th with Burton and in a separate game, 20th with Northwich.

I didn't find CM01/02 harder. Once you figured out a tactic that works for your team both are too easy.

First season in C2/B wasn't too hard - won promotion through the playoffs.

Second season in C1/A is a LOT harder, because I can't hire any staff, therefore can't do any scouting, therefore can't sgn any new players. My squad is down to 20 players in total, 4 of whom are currently out for between 4 weeks and 2 months with injury.

Pish! If you play as a zealot its still a good challenge. (for me anyway)

loan any player from any league. maybe foreign leagues are unrealistic for ll teams but foreign players dont want to go to a ll team anyway. If you want to loan a player scout them look at their stats and if they are too good dont loan them. Chances are one of your rival teams will loan them instead and beat you 9 - 0 at your home ground with your rejected loanee scoring 5 goals and assisting 4. But thats just me eing bitter

I've found that finding decent scouts to be much easier in CM4 than it was before. It is strange however that a scout demands so much money and then won't come even if you offer double that, but that is seperate issue. I have never had scouts as good as I have now so early in a 01-02 game. Whether any scouts are any good in this version is another matter, but still it was amazing to have a 20-20 scouts sign for me while I was in Serie C1.

Oi!! How did you do that? I can't even sign an assistant or coach with a stat in double figures, and I've just been promoted to C1!

No game of champo is too easy if you play it in such a way so as to make it difficult for yourself.

The 'loan player' issue is a bit of a red herring. Morton were promoted at the first time of asking with only 1 loan player half way through the season (I hadn't even considered it until iaj mentioned how easy it was).

Season 2 - promotion again with no loanees. I think the game is just a little easier.

Still, promotion from the 1st in Scotland was always a challenge. It will be interesting to see if that remains the case.
