Default 08 more realistic than other versions

Ok, so i waited a while before buying it, as i had an 07 game running.

I started out with Wolves, brought in a few brilliant signings if i do say so myself!!

Us and Watford totally tanked the championship, and up we went ready for the premiership.

This is where the total realism kicked in, i was pretty much thumped by most teams in the division, I found it very difficult to bring in premiership quality signings, and once i was resigned to relegation, my team started causing upsets left right and centre.

Since ive never been relegated in an champ or fottball manager before, its quite a strange experience, but i think that ive just played the most realistic season of football ever, thats how hard the premiership SHOULD be for a promoted club, in old versions id come up and get near the european spots.

Now i want to see if my better players will want to leave, as they dont in older versions. IRL a club is stripped down once its relegated

I respect and agree with what Respected_Boss says;

I too started with wolves and it went like that; unfortunately indeed, but very realistic

Relegation is fun! I've always said that. It is even better beating the drop on the final day of the season on goal difference though.

Agreed, much harder to waltz up through the leagues with a nobody team than ever before. Obviolusly people will manage to do it, but for the majority, what with the tougher reputaions and what not, its, personally, a more realistic version than ever before.

This is obviously just my take on it, people will disagree, and I'd be intruiged to know how they think its not more realistic than ever before. But don't be too harsh

My favourite season out of about 18 with Vauxhall Motors was when we got relegated first season in the Premiership. Was such a tactical battle just to get a goal! Especially when the board only gave me £400k to help keep us up. Those were the days... nearly made it too.

Anyway, without the patch as Vauxhall Motors again on the new version I won my first game 5-4 after being 4-1 down and my next game 9-0. Hmmmm, strange considering I had an entire new squad of strangers, free transfers and loan signing. I'm good but not that good! It then levelled out and with the latest beta patch seems fine now. Sure will be better with final patch Been playing for years and never re-start when patch comes out. Just update and carry on. You drive yourself insane otherwise.

My final point is how can people hate it so much and there be so much wrong because its changed so much BUT also hate it because nothing has changed and its just a data update of the last one! I've seen the same people complain about both. Silly really.

Yeah, i dont like how slow the development is on the youth players, but apart from that no complaints.

Just an update on my season after relegation

after 7 games i am 16th in the table. Every bugger and their granny are on my back.

Good players ive lost -

Wayne Hennessey - Fulham - 1.1 m
Michael Kightly - Celtic - 6.5 m
David Wheater - 2.5 m - Newcastle
Teemu Taino - free - Middlesbrough
Freddy Eastwood - 4.1 m - Middlesbrough

Basically, ive let my best go, and brought in utter tosh. Im totally back to being a championship side. Im already looking at other options as it looks like the sack is imminent
