I've read the troubleshooting FAQ but was away from the computer when it was installing, so I'm not too sure of the problem.

I installed the game and went off to do something else. When I came back my computer had restarted - possibly caused by an error of some kind - and the game documents appeared to be installed. However, I can't seem to run the game. There is no .exe file in the SI documents nor is there a shortcut icon, and when I insert the disk nothing happens.

I then tried to unistall the game but I got this error:

I assume this must be something to do with Java (which I read about in the FAQ) and unistalled it. I then tried it again but I couldn't unistall the program. Unsure about what Java program is needed, I then installed Java SE Development Kit 6, Java 6 update 3 and Java DB 10.2.2.0 but I still can't get the game to run.

Please help.

Btw, I right clicked the game disk icon, open expolre and installed the game but it still won't run. If I right click the FM2008.exe and select autorun ---> play, nothing happens.

I've also been into msconfig and disabled all my anti-virus/spyware programs and Java.

ok, I managed to try and get it to re-install but halfway through the process I got a blue screen (I suspect that this happened first time round) with a message saying: kernal_stack_inpage_error. I know that this is probably related to my machine and not the game but if you can help I'd be grateful.

Have you got the latest Java and next time when you uninstall, use your uninstaller. It will remove any missing keys left by programs.

I swear Java installs when you run the FM installer.

Are you Romanian? You're name means S&it in Romanian. Hehe.

Anyway, thanks for the response. I've got the latest Java update (or so I think), but that isn't the problem atm because whenever I try to run the game's installer, I get a blue screen. Currently running an anti-virus program to see if that helps and, if it does, I'll update this thread if I have more problems with the game itself.
