Same problem for me with Blyth, leading the Blue Square Premier Division all the season, 18 points in front after 36 games played. Last 10 games, i lost 8 draw 1 and won only 1 match against 2nd placed team easily. Was lucky that i m still on first place at the end. There was no reason to play that bad in the last matches. Board was really close to sack me, what a joke.

I guess no one here has ever heard of Charlton Athletic?

They're famous for the "Charlton Choke"...it even got them relegated last season.

I was overachieving to the extreme this season with Brighton. Was topping league 1 for quiet some time and was just waiting for the collapse. It came around the halfway mark and I started dropping rapidly. My strikers stopped scoring and my goalie started to let in goals at a fashion unheard of. What did I do?

I made two small tactical changes to the mentality and passing style. Then I managed to loan a striker to get more rotation into my striker force. I put my attackers on intensive shooting training. I benched my best goalscorer for the season and critisised his form. When there was about 15 games left of the season I let him back in the team and he is now scoring and putting in some good performances again. The rest of the team collected themselves by the bootstraps and we are now on a 11 game unbeaten streak and sitting second with 2 games left to play.

I don't believe in major changes when stuff starts to go downhill. When I start analysing stuff I usually realise that I have player playing on old merits even though they are doing crap at the moment. I make sure to take them out of the team, give them some rest from training and then after a few games I let back as subs and if they seem to be back in good old form they get their starting place back.
