And I am not quite clear why you prefer forced simulation over flexibility. </BLOCKQUOTE>

In RL the leagues are played even if you are not interested, you just don't have to check this infos. In FM when you load view-only the game gets slower in CM it doesn't happen

You can disable in CM if you are not interested!

So CM doesn't use any processing capacity at all for simulating other leagues

Luis Poppi - Enjoyed your post

I also tried CM08 mainly due to a little frustration whilst waiting for new patch, although only the demo.

In many respects it seems CM is behind, layout, training, in depth tactics etc.

However, there are some interesting ideas on there. I really like the idea of the prozone analysis, although it could be done better, and believe SI could do it better. I believe this would help in implementing tactics and reviewing tactics.

The idea of a 3d match engine has always appealed to me, but have no idea how practical it would be for the FM games. Given the problems in recent years with the 2d version i think it will be a few years before SI consider 3d. I hope this is something they are working towards.

Also any 3d engine would have to be a huge improvement on CM08, not only in terms of basic game play (which i quickly realised is way behind FM standard) but also in presentation.

Eventually i would like to see players represented graphically similarly to how they are in Fifa 08 or Pro Evolution 08. Again this is obviously a long way off at the moment and bare in mind i have no knowledge of programming.

I am completely lost after your last remark.

So in CM you can disable simulating other leagues and that's better than selecting other leagues in FM?

If that's the level of your recommendations

So CM processes some fixtures of obscure leagues around the world, which you'll never even look at. Big deal, we don't need that in FM. I prefer to select what leagues I run so it accurately simulates the results in leagues I actually care about. An you can select in preferences to process fixtures in the background.

Depth of the game comes into question, doesn't it?

I played the CM08 demo too, and it was pretty poor. However, I think the semi 3D pitch looks fantastic. Im not saying the match engine is any good, in fact it is very poor, but the way the players look is much better than FM. If it was implemented in FM, it would be a perfect match engine.

However, some people will say that you will stop looking at your tactics but will be looking at the game instead and not analysing your weaknesses. But I think it will be more possible to see your weaknesses, because with the current 2D engine in FM, Im very confused with what my players are doing.

I think you haven't read the complete thread, sorry we are not asking no one to change to CM, We just want FM to evolute, comparing some functionalities
I have, what I'm saying is that they're different enough that they are for different kinds of football enthusiasts.

That's why comparing such things misses the target.

SI attempt to simulate real football management to the n'th degree which isn't actually what many players want.
They want a simpler more gimmicky game which guarantees they'll achieve things like signing Rooney for Grimsby and always beating Chelski 4-0

FM tries to make that almost as impossible as irl, although the methodology used to achieve it can have rather unrealistic effects on other parts of the game.

I don't disparage people who want that kind of game but FM doesn't meet those needs.

The compromise that a huge number of players reach is to use third party apps like FM Scout and modifiers to give them the experience they want.
I actually thinks that's the sensible thing to do, because FM played in it's pure form is very hard unless you can devote a lot of time to it.

I don't see anything in the suggestions which would improve FM, I would like to see a huge effort to develop what's already there, interaction being a key one.
