Evening all. i have not played the game in a while, say approximately a month, but I am now looking to get addicted, just as I have with the previous versions of the series. My problem is that I can't get that special something that makes you keep playing.
So I have come to the conclusion that if I get told a team to manage, I'll actually stick at it. (Don't ask why, I just will lol)
I would preferably be an English team, but won't rule out other countries. I don't want to be at a club at which success is the common thing (eg a "top 4" team, or actually any premiership team really. I'd like to have a bit of cash to express myself, but again, not huge amounts. So who should I be?
P.S. Sorry for being so fussy, if anybody has a good club in mind, but doesn't meet all criteria, that'd still be good.
So thanks alot all in advance, I look forward to any replies
Leeds, Nottingham Forest, either Sheffield club, all have great prospects for advancement, in other words, you're not a Premiership club but could build a European challenger with the grounds and fanbase available.
York City is my favourite FM club, though, I've had multiple amazing careers there: its tough to drag them out of debt early on, but once you get it going its great fun. I've enjoyed playing them enough that I've become a supporter IRL!
Incidentally, I don't think I'm alone in that - we did a "Who have you managed in your current save" poll at one point, and if you exempted top flight teams, the Minstermen were one of the most popular choices.

Debt? I chose them for my lower league career game recently, and they started reasonably well off... And without exactly settign the world alight i now have a cool quarter of a million sitting in the bank, in October 2007.
