Yes it will, move your db folder somwhere else, apply patch then move your db back to its normal place

i've downloaded the official patch from the SI games site, and i've noticed it's an .exe, what folder should i drop this and run it from?

Dont have FM running then just click on the patch and it will overwrite any files that are to be changed.

I dont want to contradict the other answer but I am sure that since the patch is compatible with your save game, then any database changes will not be affected- these are normally only lost if you start a new game- perhaps safer to back up anyway.
