It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Heres my situation. I am in my 3rd season as newcastle manager and have bought two really good young right wingers, 17 and 18 respectivley. My best scout told my that they have the potention to be better than my current right winger Solano (who will retire pretty soon) and become great premier division players, so i know that the potential is there.

My question is, what would be the best way to train them up?

would it be to send them off to my championship feeder club sheff wed where im pretty sure they would be regular first team players, to get them some first team experience?

Or would i be better off to keep them at the club and have them working with my A grade coaching staff, and giving them the odd first team game?

If I have a good coaching set up, I would tend to keep hold of him to make sure he was trained well and bring him on in easy games.

But, it's always nice to forget about it and let someone else develop him for you.

I'd send the older one out of loan and train the younger til next year.

I think it's better to let them go on loan to acuire match experience.

As i know training doesn't improve CURRENT ABILITY, it just makes the maximum use of it depending on your training quality.

competitve Match experience is the best way to develope players.

I'm pretty sure young players need first team football to improve. Further to this, from my experience they will improve playing first team football in a lower division, but only to a certain degree, you do need to allow them to cut their teeth in the prem for full realisation of potential.

Loaning em out for a year or three is a good idea though

Thanks for the tips people.

I did what Nordfink said for the older of the two, named "Pedro" and kept him at my club. So far he has played in games againt Chelsea, Man U and various games in the UEFA champions league. Talk about experience! Hes also getting coaching from coaches with 20 and 19 ratings in each area.

I also sent the younger of the two off to Sheff Wed. He seems to be dooin pretty well there, averaging 7.50, and hopefully he will comeback as a champion fingers crossed.

Sending players out is defo the way forward for their development.

I find that without it, even when you have top training facilities the progression of many youngsters stats stalls if you give them just training and youth / reserve games alone.

Loan them out to teams who promise or indicate they'd be 'first team regulars' rather than provide back-up (as obviously this will give them more of a chance to shine).

Their ratings may dip a little whilst on loan (as the other team is highly unlikely to have training facilities up to you standards) ... but in the long-term they will return once they return to you and kick on from there.
