What is the best way to improve the technical and mental and physical stats for players young and old. Is it training that is the best way, or acually playing matches?

according to the game hints, players over 24 are less likely to improve dramatically.

The right training schedules, good coaches, good training facilities and lots of games.

Once a player gets to 29/30, however his attributes will rarely go up but they can go up dramatically in their early 20s.

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.
