Are there anyone who have made good working tactics that does not use wingers? Any success without them?

My tactic uses three MCs, which one is AMC. But now after one season I need to make a new tactic. I don't have good wingers in team, so should I get new wingers or stick using midfielders only.

Btw, my team finished 5th and board expections were "to fight against relegation". I am satisfied. But last four matches I lost badly, maybe because of re-ranking, dont know.

yep, just change ure am to dm, for a 4-1-3-2 . or u can keep same formation with ure strikers acting as wingers with side arrows. and ure cm doing alot more attacking,

4-1-3-2 is the formation I am currently using. My MCs (expect middle MC who have arrow to AMC) have side arrows. But because players don't know how to play this role I might make my fullbacks to advance to that postions instead. Maybe thats better?

I wanted to create good defensive tactic, but now I have new better players so I think I could attack more.

I play 4-1-2-3, that is a normal flat back 4, a DM, two MCs and three FCs, with arrows running from the two side FCs to the AML and AMR positions.

You can play wingers in those positions if you have them, but if you don't it gives you a bit of freedom.

Baptista and Henry are scoring for fun at the moment with this set up.

If I change my tactic from 4-1-3-2 to 4-1-2-3 how long does it take before my players have adpoted the new tactic. The season is over now and I have plenty of time to adopt new tactic. How many friendly matches is needed before they adopt new tactic?

Anywhere from between 5 minutes to 50 games.

If the assistant manager says the players have bonded well and there's a good team understanding (see team talk feedback) then you shouldn't have any problems setting up a new formation over the close season.

The difference is, obviously, that it may take certain players time to adapt to their new positions. You CMs, DM and back four shouldn't have any readjusting time. However, the two guys playing on the side FC positions may need a little longer to come to terms with the new position. Some may never actually manage it. I noticed when I moved from a flat 4-4-2 to 4-1-2-3 I pretty much had to ditch Ljungberg as he just wasn't cut out for it, yet Hleb performed much better.

As such, you're only really changing 2 players around, so at least defensively the tactic should hold from the get-go (providing most of your other instructions are the same). It may even be worth you keeping the 4-1-3-2 as a backup formation for games where the 4-1-2-3 isn't working properly.

i play 4 3 3 with the flanks of my mids and attackers with arrows pushing them wide, it means that when one of the forwards crosses from one side, theres 2 in the middle to score and same when attacking from the other side. Same with midfield, instead of having 2 wingers stuck on the wings the whole time, the midfield flanks can spread out when need be.
