I am having a few problems with my defenders only clearing to the edge of the box where the oppostion shoot and score quite often. Any ideas?

could have something to do with a low heading attribute perhaps? Or some other attribute for a good header being low...?

I think part of the problem is all my side seem to run into the 6 yard box when the winger is attacking and nobody stays at the edge of the area
