I used mainly AMCs in my formation, but that had more to do with needs must, as there isn't an abundance of good players available to you in the ECN. I'm about to start my Conference National season and have signed 2 MCs in the summer.

The bulk of the attacking play comes from the front 3, so I shouldn't think you'll suffer if you have to play DMCs there.

I used this tactic as Melfi in Italy. (i started unemployed and this is where i ended up)

First result was 3-3 against a team ranked top ten. I hadn't won or drawn a single game before and started creating nice chances. 2 goals of them were due to defence errors. So i could've easily won it.

Will let you know how i get on with the tactic.

Have only conceded once since the 3-3 draw. I think the draw was the odd result due to morale.

I have won 7-1, 1-0, 3-0 & 5-0 consecutively. The defence is tighter than a dogs árse! The DCs are on long passing and little creative freedom.

I seriously suggest putting the FCs with the sArrows on much creative freedom, RWB often, TTB often & Cross often. Especially since i have a in-the-box striker. Both get a lot of runs past their opponents.

With this tactic, it seems like if the midfield's passes seem to be completed twice as much as usual. Midfielders also win a lot of tackles and get an awesoem load of interception (especially the DM). My defence is starting to win most of their headers, although they don't do much of them since i'm using this tactic.

3 red cards in 5 games....but a very good tactic! dominates possession in most matches and creates plenty of chances...i'm gunna test it a bit more and let you know what i think. what sort of striker do you play in the middle of the 3 forwards?

supermarlon - Quick, strong and good finisher if possible. All my front 3 are currently ST's. I try and make sure my wider strikers have good crossing and pace stats in addition to finishing.

Hmmm, this tactic doesn't seem to be working for me, I'm afraid... Maybe it's because I tried it in the Premier League? I chose to manage Bolton, because they have players who suit this tactic (eg. Pedersen as the left FC and Diouf as the right FC...), but it didn't work out. Now, I only played 4 games with this tactic, and that run included games against Liverpool and Arsenal, but it was more the way my team played that concerned me...

I was ALWAYS under pressure and post-match reports always said the opposition enjoyed near total domination over me (which was true).

Here are my results (with the number of shots on goal/target between the bracket, starting with the home side naturally).

Arsenal (H): 0 - 3 (6/2 - 20/10)
Portsmouth (A): 1 - 3 (17/5 - 10/4)
Liverpool (A): 0 - 2 (19/7 - 5/3)
Man City (H): 0 - 1 (8/2 - 10/6)

I'm sorry that it didn't work out for me (I was really hoping it would!), and I know playing 4 games is way too short for a decent test, but I just don't have a good feeling about this tactic. So it's useless to continue with a tactic that you don't 'trust' so to speak.

Anyway, I'm glad the tactic DOES work for so many other people. So well done to ozzieg.

No worries, thanks for trying it.

I'm currently 10th halfway through my first season in the ECN. Winning my home games comfortably, but suffering narrow defeats away from home.
