I am about to develop my own tactic for once as in the past I have always used ones that I have downloaded from here.

I have a few questions for the tactical geniuses on this board about things that I have tried to do in the past with my tactics but have failed miserably.

First off how do you force a teams defensive line to come forward so you can crete chances for a pacy stiker. I have tried to do this as Liverpool with Bellamy who is a pathetic striker and couldn't hit an empty net from five yards out.

Secondly do you think that some type of target man is always essential either one thats paasses the ball such as Rooney or an up in the air man such as Klose or can teams avoid going up in the air with the right tactics. If so what sort of tactics are best for outplaying your opponent Arsenal or Barcelona style ie passing it all over te other team becasue this is what I am trying to achieve.

I have tried using the Rule of two theories but they seem a little bit limited and unflexible. I will try and create a tactic with Barcelona because they have the quality of players in each position that will be required but then I will adapt the tactiuc to suit lesser teams. If anyone has any suggestions I would be very grateful and I will report back soon if I have any success.

Sorry one more thing I forgot to metion. Should players who have high passing (17 - 20) attempt through balls often or would this cause them to constantly try passes and lose possession?

Is this where the decisions attribute comes into play?

I have noticed the problem of 1 of my stikers being one on one with the keeper and another being completely in the clear on the far side and the striker just blazes it into the side netting rather than pasing. Is this just down to lack of player quality rather than passing? Could through balls more often help this problem?

if you look in the "Important Links" sticky at the top there are a couple of discussions about hwo to go about creating a tactic. Those will probably help you get started, once you've got it developed some, people can help with more specific questions. :thup:

Maybe that striker is on a too high mentality, maybe he is selfish, maybe he's blind, maybe he makes bad decisions etc
