I am about to try and make a tactic that would suit me fine, since I prefer playing with a top division club, who aims for european success, but before I start a somewhat longer game, I would like to firsstly CREATE that tacti, TEST it in top flight football, POLISH it so I remove all the bad stuff, and then POST it here so others will help me.
The problem is on step 2, since step 1 is the basic, I don't know how to start a test, what team should I be, should I use the tactic on friendlies (I learned from a more than few experiences that friendly matches don't show the real potential of a team) and stuff.
Since I noticed many people posting their tactics here, I would be grateful if someone expained to me how he tested their tactic and how useful the test has prove to be
To test a tactic you'd preferably need to start with a midlevel to low side. For example if I were to start one I'd typically begin with Stoke, or in some cases even a really poor side.
You need to make several assumptions, this game is all about the right players fitting into the right kind of tactic, you won't know what the players are until you've played with the tactic for some time.
When you test a tactic you need to pay attention to how the tactic plays out, whether or not it achieves the right kind of stats you want. Note I said stats not results. I could win a game 1-0, but if my Shots on Goal are less than 10, I would ditch the tactic.
You can't test a tactic for just a couple of games, if you want to test it for yourself, then you could go through half a season. But I suggest you post it only after testing the tactic out for at least 2 seasons. Using a tactic in friendly matches doesn't tell you much, friendlies help with the conditioning of your players are not for their tactical awarenesss, that only happens later in the season.
If you were to post a tactic after a couple of matches, you will find yourself swamped by people who will criticise you that is for sure, unless you admit that the testing was limited and that you could do with some help testing it out.
Personally, whenever I run a tactic, its possible to tell if the tactic is good or bad after 2 games. But I would only post it after using it for 2 seasons. Cheerz
