| Getting caught in possession is quite often down to composure. An easy way to see would be pause the match when this happens and look at other options around him.

When looking for players, I generally do searches for player with at least 10 in all the mental attributes. I like to run a tight ship tactically.
Ok, for defenders, creativity and flair are not neccessarily mental attributes that are essential, though for full-backs and wing-backs, they can be very useful attributes.
I think overall strong mental attributes lead to less mistakes by players generally speaking, with composure being a very important attribute.

I played 2 more games with DC's and Fb's on 1 composure and it looks like they pass the ball abit faster when beaing closed down. It could be the low mentality (5) or maybe its actually the low composure.
If its composure, SI made a huge mistake putting it into Shooting training ! - why do we have to train longshot and finishing just to keep composure up ?
No, what they should have done was make it a mental attribute, just like aggrsssion and bravery imo. I will do more testing where defender have on higher mentality.
BRB.

Composure is in the mental attribute section, so I think you're a little confused
Composure
What does it mean: The player is in a tense situation. Can he keep his nerves?
Who Needs it: Striker to keep cool while trying to score that all important goal, defenders while there been pressed. These are just a few examples.

Take a looks at this excample and you can see why its bad.
When I have this young 17 central defender with a high potential, who start out with 9 composure, 7 longshot and 7 finishing. I have to set hes shooting workrate slider on medium or else hes composure will drop over the years.
3 years later hes composure is now 12, longshot 10 and finishing 10.
2 years later hes composure is now 14, longshot 12 and finishing 12.
That is 15 CA points used into shooting training and 10 has gone into an area which is almost useless for a DC..
Those points could have been used in hes defensive attributes.. you see this issue ?

I would say tactic schedule seems more appropriate, since most of other "mental - team" stats (Anticipation, Decisions, Movement, Teamwork) are there. Btw, I would move concentration there as well - it's important stat for GK and in some sense for STs as well (especially for TM). After all, composure, concentration, decision, determination and teamwork are stats that could make a player indespensable even if he has relatively low technique and physical stats.

| But you can balance it out and spend more time on defensive qualities and still raise his composure. So I don't see any issue. If there is one, id look more closely at your training and maybe revise it to incoperate both, so you see more and better improvements.
The example you listed doesn't say anything really, as it could be the schedule he used was not working for him to begin with
