FM2008:Getting the best from a position and analyzing the stats, A mini project
Introduction
Recently there have been some very good threads which even have some discussion in and I would like to be part of it. There are still some people struggling and I am going to provide a approach that will be able available for any patch in any game.
For this test I will be using a mid table premiership side with no signings, I have decided to use Man city. First of all I will set up a base tactic on what I think will be the right instructions and then I will follow the below approach to show you how easy the game fundamentally is.
The aim
The aim of this thread is to provide an approach which uses purely logical steps and doesn’t use any theorems or frameworks, basically tweak until it’s perfect.
The aim here is to spend detail looking at each position and even analyzing the stats to get the best out of each position in the team. Eventually I would like to have a full tactic ready to use and this should only have to be tweaked using the d/line tempo and width to decide how attacking or defensive I will go. Each competitive game I will look at a new position, this is how it will go.
1.DC
2.FB
3.DM
4.CM
5.Ml/R
6.TM
7.STR
After each game I will explain what changes I did and why, I will also post a screenshot of the settings I went for however I will no upload this but you are welcome to make it yourselves.
Depending on the tactic I may spend another 2 games studying things, these games will revolve around looking at the attacking and defensive parts of the team
When looking at the stats these are the stats I am looking for on each position, I will try to get the best out of each position.
1.DC = Interception, tackles, headers won
2.FB = Interceptions, tackles and passes
3.DM = Interceptions, tackles and passes
4.CM = Passes, tackles and shots
5.ML/R = Tackles, interceptions, runs and assists
6.TM = Passes, assists, shots
7.STR= Shots
I will post about my first games soon, hope you enjoy it,
I had 2 du this

I'd say Man City (even without any signings) are slightly better than a 'mid-table team' But good luck with this project and looking forward to reading it in detail.

Dude, don't mean to ruin your fun, but how can you determine how attacking your going to be by just adjusting D-line, tempo and width? Surely you need to change your team mentality....duh...

Sorry to tell you man, but mentality is a minor factor that determines how attacking your team is. If it is set near normal, you significantly change your style by using the sliders mentioned plus maybe passing and time wasting.
